The Circuitous Journey of Faith

The Circuitous Journey of Faith

Episode #83

Violeta Mora, MD at American University, shares with Bill her extended journey to medical school in the United States and how God provided for her throughout all the changes in her path.

Violeta Mora is a third year medical student at the American University of the Caribbean. She was born and raised in Cuba. In 2013, at the age of 21, she made the difficult decision to move to United States with her parents without being able to graduate from medical school (she had completed 4 years out of 6). She graduated from Florida International University with a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies in 2018. She then worked in pediatrics and hospice settings for 9 years before starting med school at AUC. She served at her church in Cuba and in United States as a youth leader for teenagers. She loves to read and write, and even had poems published in Spain when she was 17.
