110: When Vows Meet Vitals
Episode #110
Bill Reichart sits down with author, Dawn Mast, to discuss her book, "Soul Care for the Medical Marriage." They explore the unique challenges faced by couples in the medical field, from long hours and high stress to the emotional toll of the profession on marriages and families. Dawn shares, from the Scriptures, insights on how to build resilience and nurture the emotional and spiritual well-being of those within medical marriages. This conversation offers a lifeline for medical couples seeking to deepen their connection and thrive amidst the demands of a medical career.
Dawn Mast is a woman of deep faith in Jesus and has been married to her doctor husband Mark for over 30 years. They have 4 adult children (all are in or pursuing medicine), a daughter-in-law and she's a Granna (a term she made up.) She loves her dogs although she admits that the German Shedder makes having a clean house almost impossible. Dawn has been a writer and speaker with Encouragement Café ministries for more than a decade, has written for Focus on the Family and Rejoice! magazines and currently works at the Christian bookstore her father owns. She also faced and survived cancer in 2020 during a global pandemic. Dawn and her husband live in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia where she also does stand up comedy because it's terrifying and possibly less dangerous than jumping out of an airplane.
